Dennis D. Truax, Ph.D., P.E., Pres.22.ASCE, BCEE, BC.WRE, FASC, F.NSPE, F.ASCE  Dr. Dennis D. Truax is a Professional Engineer who worked in academe, industry, consulting, and government. He is the Chief Information Officer and Co-Founder of Bidcurement, Inc., (www.bidcurement.com) which is working to implement AI technologies to reduce cost, facilitate innovation, and improve the sustainability of civil infrastructure. Dennis is also host of the 21st Century Engineering podcast (www.21stcenturyengineering.com) which focuses on career development, ethics and professionalism, and empowerment of mid-career and younger engineers. On the faculty at Mississippi State University for over 41 years, he also held the positions of school director, department head, research center director, and endowed professor in the Rula School of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Professionally certified as an environmental and a water resources engineer, he has worked with governments, industries, and consulting firms around the world developing water supplies systems, protecting watersheds, managing wastes, and helping establish policies for sustainable water resources. He has been principal of three consulting firms and an environmental equipment manufacturing and application company. He has consulted on environmental and water resource management systems throughout the world, including the planning, design, and construction of almost 600 water and wastewater treatments systems. Recently, he has provided forensic review and design for a wide range of environmental facilities. Early in his career he worked on county engineering projects related to wastewater treatment, water resource management, highway system reconstruction and design, and grant development. He was successful in securing federal funding for three of his design projects and helped develop 39 bid packages for the various projects. He was 2022 President of the American Society of Civil Engineers having promoted workforce development, sustainable and resilient infrastructure, an increased role of younger members in the Society and profession, and policies to address resource management for a changing planet. He has served on the Mississippi Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Surveyors for 16 years and services on committees supporting the work of ABET, ASCE, EWB,
