René Leven is the Global Segment Leader Hydrogen and CCUS New Energy Solutions at John Crane, an integral pillar of Smiths Group plc, a FTSE 100 listed company dedicated to improving our world through smarter engineering. Leven is an accomplished energy transition strategist with extensive experience advising clients in the field of process automation and flow control on complex capital projects in the energy and process industries. Over the last 15 years, Leven has been involved in energy transition-related topics such as energy management systems, process efficiency optimisation, renewable energy projects, and in the past three years, hydrogen and CCUS projects and applications. Leven has an M.Sc. in Sales Engineering and Product Management from the Ruhr University Bochum in Germany, has spent 10 years living and working in the Asia-Pacific region, and currently resides in the UK.
